Restaurant Recap 8-3-2018
It’s time once again to do the news. Not too much going on right now, but I’ve got a few updates of interest heading into the weekend. I’m going to try and squeeze in a couple more reviews before my busy travel schedule begins for the next couple months. As usual, make sure you follow me on Instagram @keneatsgainesville to keep up with my travels and what I’m eating.
-Maple Street Biscuit Company in Tioga Town Center is now open after a couple setbacks thanks to the county. They are located right next door to World of Beer, which makes for a very convenient Sunday Funday of delicious chicken biscuits, then copious amounts of beer.
-Uppercrust is now open on Sundays and closed on Mondays instead! Hooray!!!
-A quick shout-out to Madrina's, who were recently honored by the 2018 Tales Spirited Wards as one of the best new cocktail bars in the country. It's the only bar in all of North Florida to ever be recognized on this list by the Tales of the Cocktail Foundation. Awesome work!!!
-PF Chang's at Butler Town Center is planning an Early September opening. Stay tuned for more updates on this one, and follow Butler Enterprises on Facebook at "Shop At Butler" to see some of the really cool hand painted murals they've been putting up inside of the restaurant.
-Since a few of you have asked and the sign is now up, there is indeed a Wawa coming off Archer Road just west of I-75 right by the Cracker Barrel. A second Wawa is also opening over on the corner of University and Waldo Road. This isn’t food related, but for selfish race car reasons, I hope they have E85 fuel. Wawa, if you’re reading this, please bring E85!!!
-Next Saturday, August 11th, Cypress & Grove Brewing Co. will be celebrating their First Anniversary with a party featuring live music, food trucks, and 3 new beer releases. Cilantro Tacos, Humble Wood Fire, Mayflower Cellars, and Endless Summer Ice Cream will all be on hand to celebrate from 1 PM to 10 PM.
That's all for now folks, enjoy your weekend because it's actually going to stop raining for a couple days, then it's back to feeling like we live in Seattle. Bless you all, may the force be with you, and we shall talk soon.
