Mother's Day Happenings

Mother’s Day is next weekend, so here’s a round-up of some of the best places to bring your mums on Sunday. I promise more reviews to come after things slow down a bit for me at the end of the month. I’ll be giving an exclusive live tour of the new Whole Foods a bit after 6 PM tomorrow (May 7th) and will be taking your questions.

 

-Embers Wood Grill will be hosting their annual Mother’s Day Brunch from 10:30 AM to 3 PM. $45 a person ($15 for children 6 and under) gets you in. The 20+ items include an omelet station, beef short rib stuffed peppers, grilled salmon, duck cassoulet, New York strip carving station, and ham. Call 352-380-0901 for reservations.

 

-Root & Pecker will be offering $8 pitchers of mimosa (strong ones) in addition to their usual brunch menu on Sunday. They begin serving at 10 AM.

 

-First Magnitude Brewing Company and Painting with a Twist are hosting a Mother’s Day painting class at the brewery from 4 PM to 6 PM. Tickets are $35 a seat and the instructor will be local artist, Jenna Horner. Class is 18+. Reservations must be made by Saturday at 6 PM. -The Great Outdoors is offering a special Mother’s Day menu that includes Chard Salmon, a petite Filet Mignon, Chicken Valdostana, and a triple layer vanilla cream cake. The menu will be served all day from 11 AM till 9 PM. Call 386-454-1288 for reservations.

 

-Ipanema Brazilian Steakhouse in Ocala is offering a special chef’s station with omelets made to order, pancakes, and other brunch items in addition to their usual rotation of meats. The menu is available 11 AM till 7 PM. Call 352-622-1741 for reservations.

 

-Francesca’s Trattoria is hosting a Mother’s Day buffet as well from 10 AM till 6 PM. All moms receive a complimentary glass of mimosa or Chardonnay. Breakfast items run until 2:30 PM, then will be replaced with lunch items. $39.95 per person ($16.95 for kids 10 and under). Items include a stuffed chicken roulade, pork tenderloin, shrimp and goat cheese pasta, Belgian waffles, omelet station, and more.
