The News: Holiday Edition

It’s gettin’ to be about that time again. The Holiday Season really crept up on us this year and before we know it, it’ll be the new year. Thank you all again for continuing to make this the #1 food publication in Gainesville and allowing me to continue to do what I do. Bangkok Square and I actually just raised over $200 for our local Toys for Tots Foundation through our duck special. Thank you all so much for making it possible! I wish all of you a happy holiday season, safe travels, and plenty of delicious food and presents. Many of you have asked me about Christmas and New Years openings and activities on the horizon, so here we go…

-Bangkok Square will be open Christmas Eve from 12 PM to 3 PM then 5 PM to 10 PM. They will also be open Christmas Day from 12 PM to 9:30 PM. Regular hours of operation on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

-Yummy House will be open Christmas Day for their regular hours of operation from 11 AM to 2:30 PM for Dim Sum, and then dinner service from 5 PM to 9:45 PM.

-Backstreet Blues Chophouse and Oyster Bar will be open Christmas Eve for regular hours of operation from 5PM to 10 PM. Reservations are recommended. Call 352-363-6792

-Paramount Grill will be open Christmas Eve from 5 PM to 9:30 PM and then 5 PM to 10 PM on New Year’s Eve. Christmas Eve special menu can be found here:

-Crane Ramen and Madrina’s are doing a combined New Year’s Eve Party with food from Chefs Steve and Austin or Crane and original cocktails from TJ Palmieri of Madrina’s. $85 a person gets you access to a special menu, an open bar, and a champagne toast. Party starts at 8 PM. Tickets are on sale at the restaurant now.

-Sabore is hosting a New Year’s Eve buffet with a carving station, seafood bar, and dessert bar. There will be two seatings throughout the night. $80 per person from 6 PM to 8 PM for the buffet and bottle of wine or French sparkling, $150 a couple from 9 PM to 12 AM for the buffet and a bottle of liquor or wine and a champagne toast, or $250 a couple for the buffet and a premium bottle of liquor or wine and champagne toast. -Embers is hosting a five-course dinner paired with wine, champagne, or specialty cocktails to ring in the New Year. $100 a person for the dinner or $60 a person for the cocktail bash at Spark with hor d’oeuvres, champagne, cocktails, wine, and beer. Call 352-380-0901 for reservations.

-Leonardo’s 706 is also doing a special New Year’s Eve dinner. Their five-course dinner menu is paired with wine and is $100 per person + gratuity and tax. Regular menu will also be available. Event starts at 7 PM. Call 352-378-2001 for reservations.
