What's up guys? As we close in on 10,000 Facebook followers, It's time to do the news again! This is a juicy one! As always, if you're reading this and haven't liked the page yet, please do! If you have, share it with your friends please? NEWS ALL UP IN YO FACE NOW!!! - Hyppo Gainesville will be opening their Archer Road location tomorrow, Tuesday December 2nd. Starting at 11 AM, the first 100 guests get a free Popsicle. The new location is next to McAllisters and 4Rivers in Butler Plaza (3232 SW 35th Blvd). Those of us who live out west can have easier access to sticks of sweet deliciousness. - Don’t forget as of today, CRANE RAMEN is now open for business! - Ameraucana Wood Fire will be at Midnight Cookies this Wednesday AND Thursday from 6 PM to 9 PM. It will be two good nights for warm round things as Midnight Cookies will have gingerbread and peppermint white chocolate cookies available! - To celebrate Repeal Day this Saturday, December 6th, 2nd Street Speakeasy will be serving Prohibition era drink specials and putting on a burlesque show featuring Aurora Natrix and Gainesville’s very own (and incredibly gorgeous) Maressa Fox. They are also asking guests to come dressed in your best flapper or gangster outfit. As in 1930’s gangster, don’t show up with a wife beater and bandana, you won’t get in. Doors at 9 PM. - Big week for food truck rallies as Cymplify hosts theirs on Friday, December 5th from 6 PM to 10 PM featuring Bubba Luigi’s Road Trip, FED Food Company, Go Go Stuff Yourself, Humble Pie, Off The Griddle, Soup to Nuts and Mobsta Lobsta. Then on Saturday, December 6th, HIGH DIVE (Gainesville, FL) will be hosting theirs starting at 5 PM, and featuring Pelican Brothers, Baboyz, Bubba Luigi’s Road Trip, Go Go Stuff Yourself, Monsta Lobsta, and more. - Tipple's Brews will be hosting a wine tasting on Sunday, December 7th from 7 PM to 9 PM. A $20 suggested donation will get you a keepsake glass, snacks, and tastings of 15 different wines. All proceeds of the event are benefiting the Child Advocacy Center of Gainesville, who help abused and neglected children in Alachua County. Great cause and great opportunity to try some great wines! - Taste is now aiming for a January 2015 opening for their new Taste Pho & Noodle House located in the former Fresco’s location off 34th street (next to Peach Valley Café). Stay tuned for more updates! - A new Vietnamese restaurant called Faith Vietnamese will be opening up at 808 W. University Avenue in the coming month. Expect a write-up to come soon after they open! - Not a local restaurant, but I thought you guys would be interested to know that Outback Steakhouse has just filed their permit with the city to renovate and move into the former Hops Restaurant off Archer Road in front of Best Buy. This is of course in preparation for their current location being torn down as part of the new Butler Town Center project. BAM!
