Another news post? So soon? Why yes, we’re jammed packed full of news nuggets that I MUST relay to the people! KNOWLEDGE TO THE PEOPLE! Happy Friday, it shall be a glorious weekend.
-Antonio’s Made In Italy is hosting a Grand Opening for their new Italian Deli and event space tomorrow, October 11th from 11 AM to 4 PM. There will be a wine tasting and free samples. The celebration will coincide with their one year anniversary.
-New cocktail menu is coming out at 2nd Street Speakeasy tonight. Menu includes the return of a Cinnamon Toast Crunch cocktail (Old Overholt Rye, Averna, and Cinnamon Toast Crunch-infused almond milk). There are also drinks that feature Celery bitters and Fig-infused Bourbon. Don’t forget, Sunday night is another Sunday S.I.N. & Strip burlesque show as well!
-Don’t forget Cymply Fresh is giving away free bacon or a glass of kombucha to anyone who checks in this week. This ends on Sunday, check-in any time between 11 AM and 3 PM, check in, show it to your cashier, and receive bacon. Check in, receive bacon. Check in….receive…bacon.
-Ameraucana Wood Fire had several event cancellations earlier in the week due to the dough not being up to their standards, but they’re back in full-force. They will be at Midnight Cookies Saturday night and…The Ole Barn (small dive bar across from Satchel’s) on Sunday night.
-Sabore is carving a “5J Jamon Iberico” ham tonight and Saturday only. Chef Valero himself will be carving it up tableside. For those unfamiliar, Iberico Ham is a beautiful cured ham from Spain that’s upwards of $1000 for a 14 pound to 17 pound product. A few slices of this with some sherry is a beautiful beautiful thing.
-Nightfall Robust Porter is back on tap at First Magnitude Brewing Company as well as the Ginger Springs Hefeweizen (this is a good one!). Go Go Stuff Yourself will be at the brewery tomorrow as well, serving up food while the Gators take on LSU.
-Tonight is also Haile Plantation’s annual Oktoberfest celebration. It’s really just some vendors, children dancing for some reason, and barely any German beers…but if you’re into that sort of thing, it’s happening. I inform, you decide.
-As mentioned before, this week’s Poptoberfeast pop-up dinner has been cancelled.
