There are quite a few events coming up this week as we celebrate Gainesville Restaurant Week 2014! I’ll do my best to outline some of the upcoming events and specials that I enjoy the most, along with several other big events happening this week. If you haven’t already, please check out keneatsgainesville.com. Most of this info will be posted on the Events page there!
-Crane Ramen is hosting a pop-up dinner at Vine Bread & Pasta this Friday and Saturday beginning at 5 PM each day. It’s your chance to get a sneak preview of the upcoming ramen restaurant. There will be 3 types of ramen available at $10 a bowl, served on a first-come-first-serve basis. Once they’re out, they’re out!
-Cymplifest is also this weekend (June 27th and 28th) from 5 PM to 10 PM each day. There will be live music, ice cream, and food trucks as usual. Ameraucana Wood Fire will be out there, which means I will probably be there as well.
-Adam’s Rib Company (North) will be hosting a rib eating contest this Wednesday. Show up at 5:30 to get registered. Kids eat for free from 6 to 8 PM, and there will be a magician there for entertainment.
-Sakara Sweets will be serving complimentary champagne and a selection of truffles this Thursday (June 26th) starting at 8 PM.
-David’s BBQ is hosting a Prime Rib Buffet this Friday (June 27th) starting at 5:30 PM. $14.99 a person gets you all-you-can-eat Prime Rib. This is only at the 39th Avenue location. I’m going to cry for a long time if I miss this.
-Using the Gift Certificates & More app (http://www.giftcertificatesandmore.com/), there are a number of restaurants offering specials all week. Bangkok Square, Adam’s Rib Company are each offering $2 off each check. Mildred’s is offering special 3-course meals for $36 a person, Blue Gill is also offering 3-course specials, Mark’s US Prime is offering $25 off a check $50 or more, and Sabore is doing $5 off each check.
-As usual, please share, like, send me hate mail, or give me hugs. Follow me on Instagram to stay up to date on my adventures (@keneatsgainesville) and check out the new site. I hear the food map and the events calendar are pretty awesome. I’ve made some changes that will hopefully speed things up now. Cheers!
